The Year Ahead

In the year ahead, we are seeking funds to double our funding for women entrepreneurs, reach out to the tribal areas in India, and help underprivileged young students succeed in reaching their goals. Our goal for CY2024 is $75,000.

Health

Women’s health & hygiene

  • Providing access to women's personal hygiene products while creating a sustainable local business. This initiative, coupled with educational efforts to address social stigma, has improved schooling outcomes for young girls.

Education

Donate time / talent for mentoring kids / students in Maharashtra, India

  • Partnering with an NGO working towards the higher education needs of the rural talent who need financial support. It also works towards other development needs of the students.
  • One such identified need is communication skills in English of these students who would mostly be educated in their regional language.
  • TAP, in addition to funding education needs of a few students (treasure pillar) has also initiated contribution by way of mentorship towards English training (TAP’s time and talent pillars)

Livelihood 

Biodegradable Leaf plate manufacturing unit in Chhattisgarh, India.

  • The project intends to improve income for a generation of adivasi and traditional forest dweller communities in Surguja. This will be done through setting up a leaf plate manufacturing unit for 15 villages belonging to 6 revenue villages (gram panchayats) covering a population of about 8000. 
  • It would serve as a model for a sustainable rural enterprise for the local people. Once established, the project activities would be expanded to 15 revenue villages (gram panchayats).
  • Sustainability of the project has been accounted for at each step and this fund would act as a seed for future growth of the local community.
